Adrenalize (English for " dope ") is the fifth studio album by British hard rock band Def Leppard. It was published on 31 March 1992 worldwide. It contains 10 tracks, of which six were still written with the assistance of Steve Clark.

Formation

The album Hysteria in 1987 was an enormous success for Def Leppard: Worldwide, the album sold so far around 20 million times. For the recording of Hysteria, the band had caused, four years required by a serious accident of their drummer Rick Allen, who had thereby lost his left arm. After the end of the Hysteria tour in October 1988, singer Joe Elliott therefore announced that the recording of the follow-up album would not take so long again; the group planned to finalize the work after just one year because even song ideas were present.

While working on new songs and recordings became clear that the addiction problems of guitarist Steve Clark increased, so that the recordings were slowed down. Steve Clark died on 8 January 1991 at his home in London. The group was still working on the album continues, but not yet committed succession to the late guitarist.

Dedication

Def Leppard dedicated the album to her late guitarist Steve Clark:

"This record is the guitarist and good friend Stephen Maynard Clark dedicated. We all have different memories of him, ranging from his late 1978 pronounced threatening to leave the band if we did not finally cease to rehearse and give a real concert, a fully impressive " shadow casting " on the stage with his front of the knees hanging Les Paul, to his appearances off the stage in bars and hotel rooms. It's strange to think that you really know someone, while you slowly realize that there is more happening than what you can see. In recent years, Steve's life was a battle. It ceased to rotate about the writing or recording music and became a struggle for survival. To see how someone is dissolving before your very eyes a hard matter, and although it is frustrating, it is impossible to stop. We have learned something about human nature, and believe us, it's not necessarily beautiful. Nevertheless: Enough. Steamin 'could get involved in writing the most songs of this recording, and it's the music, for one will remember him. We miss him. "
