Adriaan Paulen

Adriaan Paulen (born 12 October 1902 in Scheldelaan; † 9 May 1985 in The Hague) was a Dutch athlete and sports official. He was 1976-1981 President of the International Association of Athletics Federations ( IAAF).

Paulen was middle-distance runner. After the end of his athletic career, he studied metallurgy and worked as a mining engineer and in the further course of his professional career as a mine director. During the Second World War he was active against the German occupation of the Netherlands. After the war, the sports official was in athletics. Paulen also took part in several times the Monte Carlo Rally.
