Adrian Fulford

Sir Adrian Fulford QC ( born January 8, 1953) is a British lawyer and since 2002 a judge at the High Court of Justice of England and Wales and since 2003 a judge at the International Criminal Court in The Hague.

Life

Fulford studied at the University of Southampton. He then worked as a barrister in 1978 and in 1994 was appointed Attorney-General. After working as a recorder since 1995, since 2002 he is a judge at the High Court of Justice of England and Wales. He worked with, among others, the proceedings against the perpetrators of the London bombing of July 21, 2005, against the terrorists Saajid Badat.

On 11 March 2003, he was appointed from the list A for a term of nine years a judge of the International Criminal Court in The Hague. He is head of the Trial Division and Chairman of the First Chamber in the case against Thomas Lubanga.

Fulford lives openly homosexual and in 2010, led by the British newspaper The Independent at number 39 of the Pink List, a list of the most influential gay British. He is considered the first openly gay judge in the United Kingdom.
