Adrian Gurvitz

Adrian Gurvitz ( born June 26, 1949 in London, England ) is an English rock and jazz guitarist and singer.

Life

Gurvitz came early into contact with music since his father was a roadie for The Shadows and later tour manager, both of Cliff Richard and the Kinks. In 1968 he founded with his brother Paul ( bass) a band called The Gun, both of which occurred under the family name " Curtis". My first single "Race with the Devil " became a hit single. The song, however, should still be 1977 in a version of Black Oak, Arkansas a bigger success.

After two relatively unsuccessful albums, the group split again. The two brothers then founded the short-lived band " Three Man Army" before they recorded in 1974 with drummer Ginger Baker Gurvitz Army Baker as three albums. In time, the brothers took even with the Moody Blues drummer Graeme Edge as " Graeme Edge Band" two plates.

Then Gurvitz went to California and published there with musicians of Toto and Earth, Wind & Fire a less than successful solo album. Together with his brother Paul, he played in 1982 the album " Classic", and the eponymous title song became a Top Ten hit in the UK as well as a one- hit wonder.

In 1989 he moved to Los Angeles and became a composer with a record company, where he wrote songs for Eddie Money or Kenny G, among others. Since the 1990s, he turned to jazz.
