Adrian Noble

Adrian Keith Noble ( born July 19, 1950) is an English theater director. Noble was director and artistic director of the Royal Shakespeare Company of 1990 to 2003.

After studying at the University of Bristol Noble began his professional career as a director at the Drama Centre London. He then worked at the youth theater, until he went to the Bristol Old Vic Theatre in 1976. In addition, he has worked as a director for television. From 1980 to 1981 he worked at the Royal Exchange Theatre in Manchester, where he among other things, the piece Duchesse of Malfi staged, for which he won the London Critics Award and Drama Award ( also for his production of Dr. Faust and Best Director for the staging of A Doll 's House, 1980). Throughout his career he has 120 Olivier Award nominations received. 1980 was Adrian Noble as assistant to the Royal Shakespeare Company. His first production was Ostrowskys Two Sister. In 1988 he was promoted to director. In 1989, Adrian Noble a break at RSC and worked for the Peter Hall Company, where he directed The Fairy Queen. He also worked at the Manhattan Theatre Club and the Kent Opera House. During this time he has also produced Giovanni in a circus tent in Paris. After this time, the search for independence in March 1991, he went back to the RSC. He has also staged some successful musicals in London's West End, including Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and The Secret Garden.
