Adrian Zieliński

Edward Adrian Zielinski ( born March 28, 1989 in Nakło nad Notecią ) is a Polish weightlifter. He was world champion in 2010 in a duel in the light heavyweight and 2012 Olympic gold medalist in weightlifting in the class to 85 kg.

Career

Adrian Zielinski began as a teenager with weight lifting. He belongs to the sports club MGLKS Tarpan Mrocza and is trained by Ireneusz Chelmowski. His one year younger brother brother Tomasz Zielinski is also a successful weightlifter. Adrian Zielinski starts for the Chemnitz athletes club in the German Bundesliga.

In 2006, he launched the age of seventeen for the first time at the Polish Championship of seniors, reaching it in Leichtschwergerwicht 330 kg ( 150-180 ) went straight to 3rd place. In the same year he won at the Junior European Championship (U 18) in Landskrona in the middle heavy weight 312 kg ( 144-168 ) 2nd place. He won the same seat at the European Junior Championship (U 20) in 2007 in Puerto de la Cruz, Spain, where he scored in the Light Heavyweight 347 kg ( 157-190 ).

In 2008 he was in a light heavyweight with 347 kg ( 162-185 ) Polish runners-up in the seniors. At the Junior World Championship (U 20), 2008 Cali he had in the light heavyweight division, the bitterness of three failed attempts in the snatch suffered and therefore remained unplaced in a duel. But in pushing he won with 190 kg still a bronze medal. At the Junior Championship ( U-20 ) in 2008 in Durres, he finished in a light heavyweight with 353 kg ( 163-190 ) 2nd place. At the Olympic Games in Beijing in 2008 he was not yet used.

Was very successful for Adrian Zielinski 2009. It was first used in an international championship in the seniors. In Bucharest, he came here in a light heavyweight with 363 kg on the 5th Place. He won there but in the snatch with 167 kg an EM silver medal. The Juniors ( U 20 ), he was in Bucharest World Champion and European Champion in Landskrona in single combat. He was eventually also used in the Senior World Championships in Goyang 2009 and achieved there in the light heavy weight 372 kg ( 171-201 ), which he finished in 6th place. In tearing he missed it with the 4th place only just his first World Championship medal in the senior.

At the European Championships 2010 in Minsk, he was not at the start. He focused entirely on the 2010 World Cup in Antalya, for which he was preparing intensively for six months. A preparation that zeitigte the greatest success, for he was in Antalya in the light heavyweight division with the new personal best of 383 kg ( 173-210 ) the new World Champion in front of Alexei Jufkin, Russia, 380 kg and Siarhei Lahun, Belarus 377 kg. He was also the Olympic champion in 2008 and 2009 world champion Lu Yong of China behind it, the finished only 5th place with 372 kg in the total. In the individual events he won a World Championship silver medal ( tearing) and a World Championship bronze medal ( put).

At the World Championship 2011 in Paris Adrian Zielinski could not defend his title from 2010. It came with 376 kg ( 174-202 ) in a duel behind Kianoush Rostami, Iran, managed in a duel 382 kg ( 173-209 ) and Benjamin Hennequin, France, 378 kg ( 170-208 ) on the 3rd place. The main reason there were two failed attempts in pushing 208 kg.

The biggest success in his career, he then celebrated in 2012. He was in London Olympic champion in the light heavyweight division. His performance was 385 kg ( 174-211 ) in a duel. Although Apti Auchadow from Russia yielded the same battle power, but was 130 g heavier than Zielinski, who thus won the gold medal.
