Adriano Correia Claro, known as Adriano ( born October 26, 1984 in Curitiba ) is a Brazilian footballer. The Brazilian international is applied as a full-back as well as a midfielder, mainly on the left side, are used. He has in addition to the Brazilian and the Spanish citizenship.

Career

Association

Adriano started his career at Coritiba FC in his home town. In January 2005, he moved to Spanish side Sevilla FC, where he signed a contract for four and a half years. His league debut for Sevilla he was in the 0-4 defeat against FC Barcelona on Matchday 21 of the season 2004/05. Adriano was placed on the left side since this game, and played in a total of 16 league games this season, five of them over the full season. His team was at the end of this season, sixth and thus qualified for the UEFA Cup. In the following two years he won with Sevilla two-time UEFA Cup. In winning the UEFA Cup in 2007, he scored in the final against Espanyol, who won his team a penalty shoot, the opening goal. Already in September 2006, Adriano had extended his contract with Sevilla for another two years.

2009/10 he took with Sevilla in the UEFA Champions League, where he retired with Sevilla, as in the 2007/08 season, in the second round.

For the season 2010/11 he moved to FC Barcelona and was the first signing under the new president Sandro Rosell. He signed a four-year contract with an option for an additional year. The transfer fee was 9.5 million euros and may be increased by an additional 4 million euros. On October 2, 2011 Adriano scored in a 1-0 away win against Sporting Gijón the decisive goal, it was his first in the jersey of FC Barcelona.

National

With the Brazilian U -20 team won the 2003 Adriano together with Daniel Alves at the Junior World Cup in the UAE, the gold medal. He stood with the exception of the last group match against Australia in every game of his team on the grid.

In July 2003, he made his debut for the senior team during the Gold Cup in 2003, the first game against Mexico. Adriano, the all five games played in this tournament from the start, failed with Brazil in the finals to Mexico.

In 2004 he was present at Brazil's success in the Copa América in 2004, but remained without use. On 15 November 2006 Adriano played his last game for the time being. Four years later, on October 11, 2010, he was reinstated in the dress of the Seleção. Under coach Mano Menezes, who took over the team after the disappointing running World Cup in South Africa, Adriano was used in the Feundschaftspartie against Ukraine at halftime for André Santos. In the summer of 2011, he was nominated for the Copa America in Argentina.
