Adriano Directo Emperado

Adriano D. Emparado ( born June 16, 1926 in Honolulu, Hawaii Territory, † April 4, 2009 on Maui ) is the founder of the martial art of Kajukenbo. He received his martial arts training by William KS Chow and his teacher James mitosis. From these teachings he received on August 10, 1950 the rank of 5th degree black belt. In 1951 he took part in James mitosis on advanced training ( for teachers). This instruction took place in James mitoses residence and in the gym in the Emma Street, which was known then as the official self defense Club. In 1952 he received from mitosis his teacher status. From the ( later ) Professor Lum and the ( existing ) Professors Kamfu, Wong and Lau - King by the Chinese Physical Society of Hawaii Emparado was awarded the title of "professor".

Adriano Emparado earned recognition through the training of thousands of men, women and children in various types of self-defense, through the practical application of martial arts. He taught for example, army personnel such as the Honolulu Police Department.
