Work

Adrianus Zwart is a member of the Hague School and is in his Rijswijk epoch a typical representative of Dutch painting as it existed until the mid 20th century. Not only the painting but also the motives of the rural life of the Netherlands were dwindling, so the interiors shown of kitchens, living rooms and stables to the past are likely to have heard. With the landscapes, Zwart, however, is more of a representative of the French plein- air painting, which continued into abroad in his extensive travels. Had Zwart already added the muted dark colors to color accents, the Dutch color scheme differs completely here a strong color scheme.
