Adrien Barthe

Adrien Barthe (actually Burr Norbert Barthe, born June 7, 1828 in Bayonne, † August 13 1898 in Asnières ) was a French composer.

Barthe studied at the Conservatory in Paris. In 1854, he won with the cantata Francesca de Rimini the Prix de Rome and the art scholarship associated with it. In 1858 he won the Prix Rodrigues, and stabbed his only companions, the later well-known composer Georges Bizet, from. His most famous works are the two operas Don Carlos and La Fiancée d' Abydos and the oratorio Judith.
