Advanced Microcontroller Bus Architecture
The Advanced Microcontroller Bus Architecture ( AMBA ) of the IP manufacturer Advanced RISC Machines Ltd.. (ARM) currently defined in the 3rd Generation ( AMBA3 ) four buses:
- Advanced High -performance Bus (AHB replaces the Advanced System Bus ( ASB) in newer systems )
- Advanced Trace Bus ( ATB)
- Advanced Peripheral Bus ( APB)
AMBA is used in system -on-a -chip systems for connecting the components, for example, in FPGA hardware as with Macro integrated ARM cores. A typical AMBA -based system consists of a high-speed bus (AHB or ASB) and a peripheral bus ( APB), which are connected to one another via a bridge.
