The AECOM Technology Corporation ( English pronunciation :/ eɪ.i ː kɒm, U.S. dict: ā ē · · COM ) is a provider of technical services and assistance to company management. The name AECOM is an acronym for the fields of Architecture, Engineering, Consutling, Operations and Maintenance.

History

AECOM was founded in 1990 as an independent company in the U.S., although its beginnings to the early 20th century and the founding of Ashland Oil & Refinering in Lexington, Kentucky go back. Through various mergers and acquisitions of engineering, design, construction, consulting, Plaungs and environmental enterprises and technological developments AECOM grew up in the chemical, petrochemical, road and building construction, architecture, design, engineering and consulting. Since May 2007, AECOM is listed as a publicly listed company in New York Stock Exchange. In October 2010, AECOM merged with the international consulting company for workplace strategy development DEGW and is present as AECOM Germany GmbH in the German market since October 2012.
