Aega (mayor of the palace)

Aegas (also AEGA, Ega or Egua, * unknown; † 641 ) was a Frankish Meier house in Neustria.

About him is due to the bad tradition position in the sources of the 7th century, very little is known. For the first time he enters 639 in appearance, as he is appointed by Nanthild, widow of Dagobert I, after whose death the Merovingian house Meier of Neustria ( successor to the Gundoald ) and Burgundy. Thus he was able to briefly unite two of the three classic house Meier offices in itself, which shows its particular position of power at this time. But already Aegas 641 died in Clichy. His successor in Neustria was Erchinoald while he was succeeded in Burgundy of Flaochad.
