AEGON

The Dutch company AEGON N.V. is one of the leading companies in the life insurance sector. The company's headquarters is located in The Hague, Netherlands.

The company name (company) Aegon is formed from the names of the five insurance companies ( acronym) - Algemeene Friese (1844 ), Eerste Nederlandsche (1882 ), Groot- Noordhollandsche (1845 ), Olveh (1879 ) and Nillmij (1859 ).

The end of 2004, the company employed more than 27,000 people worldwide. Aegon business are focused on life insurance and pensions. The company is also active in the field of health, damage and liability insurance. The main focus AEGON is present in the U.S., the Netherlands and the UK markets, but also in other countries like Canada, Hungary, Slovakia, Spain, Taiwan and China. In 1995, the German subsidiary of Aegon Moneymaxx in Dusseldorf, which was delivered to the German ring life insurance AG 2005. In July 1999, AEGON acquired the US-based financial services and insurance companies Transamerica Corporation.

As a result of the financial crisis from 2007 gave the Dutch Ministry of Finance on 28 October 2008 that to support the company with a total of three billion euros.

Promotions

2008 Aegon was the official sponsor of the Dutch football team AFC Ajax, the agreement lasts for seven years. The uniform of Ajax is now transversely fitted through the chest with a Aegon logo. Aegon became the third sponsor of Ajax. (TDK sponsored Ajax in the 1980s, and ABN AMRO 1990-2008 ). According to the state in 2008 Aegon also promotes the Lawn Tennis Association. Since 2004, Transamerica is the main sponsor of the U.S. golfer Zach Johnson.
