Aero Asia International

Aero Asia International was a private Pakistani airline based in Karachi at Jinnah International Airport. She was the first low cost airline of Pakistan.

History

Aero Asia was founded in 1993 and took off on May 4, 1993. She was initially owned by the Pakistani group Tabani.

Was initially flown with a fleet of between three and five Yakovlev Yak - 42D between the major Pakistani cities Karachi, Islamabad and Lahore. As demand grew, the machines were replaced by Boeing 737- 200Adv and Douglas DC-9.

Mid-2005, Aero Asia has been granted permission for more flights to the UK, Scandinavia and Bahrain. In addition, an extension of the fleet was announced. However, nothing has been implemented it.

On 22 May 2006, the Aero Asia had to stop at the behest of the civil aviation authority of their flights after this she owed millions of rupees for flight taxes.

On 12 June 2006 the British Regal Group, Aero Asia Group purchased from the Tabani, and the airline was then in a restructuring process. Mid-2006 was the fleet of the Company for financial reasons inactive. In early 2007, the operations were resumed, but banned by the authorities again in May 2007. The reason they called security concerns. Since the part of Aero Asia, no improvements were arranged, they had to permanently cease operation on 19 May 2007.
