Aero Logic is a German cargo airline based in Schkeuditz and bases to Leipzig / Halle and Frankfurt. It is a joint venture between DHL and Lufthansa Cargo.

History

Aerologic emerged from an existing since 2004 joint venture between DHL Express and Lufthansa Cargo. The legal framework for the planning phase unnamed or only as NewCo (new corporation, dt: "New Company") designated company was registered on 12 September 2007, the shelf company Blitz 07-343 GmbH in the commercial register. On 9 January 2008, the name was changed to Aero Logic GmbH, which was officially announced on January 28. At the company DHL Express and Lufthansa Cargo hold a share of 50 percent.

On 26 May 2009, the Federal Aviation Authority issued to Aero Logic the operating license for the transportation of mail and cargo for transport after the cargo airline the first in Germany registered before Boeing had 777 approved. The official flight operations took Aerologic on June 19, 2009.

For the start of operations a total of eight new Boeing 777F factory were ordered, all of which are owned by a leasing company. The first machine of this type with the registration D - AALA came with three months late, she's arrived on 13 May 2009 at 15:24 clock at the Leipzig / Halle airport and started on June 29 for its first commercial flight.

Destinations

The business model consists mainly of long-haul cargo flights on behalf of its parent companies DHL and Lufthansa Cargo. Accordingly, also vary the destinations, so Aerologic flies mainly on working days on behalf of DHL Express regular airmail between Europe and Asia. On weekends the machines for Lufthansa Cargo fly to Leipzig / Halle and Frankfurt mainly to Asia and the United States.
