Aerotec Uirapuru

The Aerotec A. 122 Uirapuru is a propeller-driven two-seat trainer aircraft of Aerotec with adjacent seats.

Construction

The Uirapuru is an all-metal low-wing aircraft with a Lycoming O -320 piston engine. It is equipped with a fixed tricycle landing gear and has an enclosed cabin with sliding roof and two side-by- side seating with dual controls and a conventional tail.

History

In October 1967, the Brazilian Air Force ordered 30 copies to P.11 and P.12 (T -21 and T-22 ) replace the aging Fokker, which stood at the Air Force Academy in use. Later, another 40 and then again ordered 30. The Uirapuru was referred to the Brazilian Air Force as a T-23.

The Bolivian Air Force ordered 36 copies in 1974 that flew until 1997. In 1975, then bought the Paraguayan Air Force eight aircraft, the Fokker S.11 replaced there as well. 1986 were paid by the Brazilian air force six copies. Most of them were taken out of service in 1992 and replaced by the ENAER T-35 Pillán. Thirty were sold on the civilian market.

1980 was developed at the suggestion of the Brazilian Air Force, the improved version called A. 132 Uirapuru II. Since the Brazilian Air Force did not order this machine, only a few were produced for Bolivia
