Aesch, Lucerne

Aesch is a municipality in the constituency high village of the canton of Lucerne in Switzerland.

Geography

Aesch is located between the southern end of Lake Hallwil and the Lindenberg in Lucerne part of the Lake Valley. The municipal area of 580 ha consists of shares in the Hallwilersee and 465 hectares of land area. Of the latter, 67.7 % are agricultural land, 19.4% forest and woodland and 10.1 % settlement area. Aesch is composed of different parts of the village ( Vorderdorf, Hintersdorf, Lädergass, Unteräsch etc.).

Neighboring communities of Aesch are in the canton of Lucerne Altwis, Hitzkirch and Schongau, in the canton of Aargau Meisterschwanden and driving cheeks.

Population

The number of inhabitants amounted in 1798 584 people and grew to 1837 on 876. Then she dropped to 1960 to 563 in 1970 Aesch again had 670 residents - and by strong growth since 1980, 970 inhabitants at the end of 2010.

Languages

Dominant is the German language, which 95.89 % of the population is used as the main language of ( as of 2000). Smaller linguistic minorities form groups of immigrants from the former Yugoslavia. 1.68% speak Albanian and Serbo-Croatian as 0.53% colloquial language.

Religions - faiths

Traditionally, the entire population of Roman Catholic Christians. At the last census in 2000 gives the following picture: 73,37 % are Catholic, Evangelical Protestant 15.37% and 0.84 % Orthodox Christians. Non-Christian minorities include the 4.32% non-religious and the 3.68% Muslims.

Origin and nationality

In 2000 owned 93.37 % (without dual citizen 89.79 %), the Swiss citizenship. Of the immigrants originate 2.63 % (including dual citizens 2.74% ) from Serbia and Montenegro, 0.00% ( 1.37% ) from the United Kingdom and 0.95 % ( 1.37% ) from Germany. End of 2006, the proportion of foreigners was 7.0 % (or 65 people of the 931 residents ).

In the last elections to the cantonal parliament (2011), the parties reached the following percentage of voters: CVP 36.6 %, SVP 26.1%, FDP 15.9%, Greens 14.0%, SP 4.5%, 2.1% glp and other parties 0.8%.

Economy

In 2000, there were 488 workers. The once dominant employment in agriculture has been greatly reduced by the increase in population. In the 17th and 18th centuries dominated the wine, which, however important in the 19th century dairy farming and fruit growing. Only 29.0 % of the population work in agriculture and fisheries, on the other hand 43.8 % in trade and industry and 27.2% in service occupations. 134 Zupendlern (especially from the canton of Aargau and Hitzkirch ) are 379 commuters over ( cantons of Aargau and Zurich, Hitzkirch and high village).

Traffic

Aesch is far away from the main roads. The next motorway in Sursee and Hunzenschwil are 19 km away. The Seetalbahn goes to Aesch over ( nearest stop Mosen ). There is a bus service between Hitzkirch and Schongau, which performs Aesch.

History

Finds from the Neolithic Age and Celtic and Roman tombs prove the long history of settlement. Officially first mentioned, inferior under the Latin name Aske, is the place in the year 853 in a donation of Louis the German. In another deed of gift in 1101 first appears in a German-speaking local term ( Aschab ), in 1150 the name of ash on. From the southern German barons of Krenkingen the rule first went to the Counts of Kyburg and then to the St. John High Rain Coming. 1415 got the entire office Richensee to Lucerne, then belonged, however, from 1425 to 1803 to the outdoor offices. 1528 the Reformation was introduced. Already in 1532 the church was, however, re-Catholicised. All Protestant inhabitants, who refused to renounce the Reformation were " washed " in Lucerne, Reuss ( drowned ). Since 1803, the municipality in the canton of Lucerne and the Office high village was allocated.

Train

In Aesch is a kindergarten and a primary school for grades 1 to 6, which was attended in the school year 2003/2004 of 10 respectively 105 children. For further education, students go to the orientation stage after Hitzkirch ( Secondary level A, B, C or D) or to Baldegg (Canton school).

Attractions

The Catholic orientation is reflected in the sights. Side chapels and wayside shrines particularly the 1791/1792 built by M. Elgus village church of St. Luzia is emphasized. This was built in the classical style with rococo decorations. 1908, a bell tower was added. In 1935, an interior renovation, 1980, a total restoration. In 2003, a smooth interior and exterior renovation was carried out.
