Aeshma

Aeshma ( Avestan: " Frenzy " ) is a demon from the book Avesta. In the Zoroastrian tradition, he appears in the Middle Persian form of ESM or Xešm, in the "Book of Kings" Shahnameh Iranian mythology in the neupersischen development Xašm.

Aeshma is often mistakenly equated with Asmodis, but the latter is an independent figure of Judaism and thus also in the Christian tradition. However, the name probably derives from Asmodis of the Avestan Aeshma Daevas.

Aeshma is a so-called Daevas bring a name for malevolent spirits and demons, lust and wrath upon the people. Aeshma is considered as the personification of greed, murder, noise and anger, and is the enemy of cattle.
