AFC Futsal Championship
Since 1999, ( officially: AFC Futsal Championship ) by the Asian Football Confederation official Futsal Asia Championship for national teams played. The first tournament was held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The tournament was held every two years from 1999 to 2008 annually thereafter. The tournament serves all four Jahrte as a qualifying tournament for the World Cup.
History
As the world governing body FIFA was to align the first Futsal World Championship, Asia posted with Saudi Arabia and Japan, any two representatives. To the next World Cup in 1992, however, a qualification with time still six teams was held for the qualification for the World Cup in 1996, finally came to nine teams.
In 1999 it was decided to carry a Asia Cup. The first edition took place from 5th to 10th March 1999 Malaysia instead. Winner of the tournament was the team of Iran, which was able to secure from that date, with the exception of 2006, all the championships.
Mode
The host of the final fix is qualified for the Asian Cup, also attract the 12 best placed teams of the tournament last year also in the final round. The other four places will be in a qualifying tournament.
In the final round of the nations are divided into four groups of four. The top two teams in each group progress to the quarter -finals and play in cross game to the rise in the final. There is also a game for third place held.
The mode in the finals changed several times.
