Affretair

Affretair was an airline in Zimbabwe, which was active only in the freight business. Its origins date back to 1964, when were recorded under the name Air Trans Africa with a DC4 cargo flights. 1983 began on Air Zimbabwe Affretair, they privatized in 1997 but again, when aircraft from Affretair in Europe no longer allowed to start because of technical defects. The British Aviation Star Affretair bought and replaced the ailing DC8 by a Boeing 707 cargo flights in 1964 were made only on a charter basis. Today, regular flights are offered, as they require flower and vegetable export business.

Today, the air cargo business is a multimillion business. Affretair flies with a DC8 - 73F five times a week from Harare to Brussels, with a B727Freighter three times a week to Lusaka to Lilongwe twice, once to Luanda and Johannesburg every day except Saturday.

Affretair reported in the year of 2000 bankruptcy and its only aircraft remained for nearly two years on the ground. In October 2001, it was said, Affretair would sell its assets to pay the U.S. $ 800 million debt to its creditors. On 17 November 2004 said the Zimbabwean Finance Minister Herbert Murerwa that the government would be willing to let Affretair start from 2005.
