Afghan Independent Human Rights Commission

The Afghan Independent Human Rights Commission (Persian کمیسیون مستقل حقوق بشر افغانستان; Pashtun د افغانستان د بشري حقونو خپلواک کميسيون, English Afghanistan Independent Human Rights Commission, AIHRC ) in accordance with Article 58 of the Afghan Constitution of 2004, the task of respect for to oversee human rights, to strengthen it and protect it. Anyone should be able to attach a complaint to the Commission about the violation of his human rights. The Commission is given cases of human rights violations to the competent judicial bodies and support to individuals in the defense of his rights.

History

For the period from 2003 to 2005, the AIHRC published together with the United Nations a report on human rights violations in Afghanistan.
