Afghan Telecom

Afghan Telecom, short Aftel, is an Afghan telecommunications company headquartered in Kabul. It was founded in September, according to Afghan law in 2005 and is wholly owned by the Afghan Ministry of Communications and Information Technology. A partial privatization of 80 % of the company shares was announced in March 2008.

The company is his own words the only Afghan telecom provider that offers a basic supply of all information and communication services such as telephony ( landline and mobile) or online services.

The telecommunications network of Afghan Telecom provides all 34 Afghan provincial capitals and 254 towns and villages. Currently Aftel has an estimated 95,000 customers and 1,000 employees.
