Afghan Wireless

The Afghan Wireless Communication Company ( AWCC ) is an Afghan telecommunications company and a leader in providing wireless and broadband communication solutions to residential and business customers. The company, with registered office in Kabul was established in 2001 by Ehsan Bayat.

According to the company, employs 3,000 staff, while another 20,000 indirectly work for the company. AWCC has over two million subscribers, including Azizi Bank and the Kabul Bank, two of the largest banks in Afghanistan (2008 ).

In early 2007, Afghan Wireless has been nominated as the best networking initiative for the GSMA Award. In September 2007, it was nominated for the World Communications Award as the best operator in a developing market.

The company is committed to charitable projects.
