Afgooye

Afgooye (also Afgoye Afgoi or written ) is a town in southern Somalia. It is located inland on the River Shabeelle slightly north west of the state capital, Mogadishu, in the region Shabeellaha Hoose. Their population was, according to a 2007 estimate at 68,000 inhabitants.

In the history of Somalia Afgooye the Ajuran - Hawiye end of the 17th century capital of the Sultanate of Geledi - Digil was ( Rahanweyn ) after the demise of the state. The place is known for taking place here hard Istunka, in which performed, among others, stick-fighting.
