Africa Boulevard

Jordan (Persian جردن ) is a district in the north of Tehran. The name Jordan goes back to Samuel M. Jordan, the founder and director of the American College of Tehran from 1910 to 1940 (now Alborz College).

In the center of the district, just east of Valiasr Street, is the formerly eponymous street. After the Islamic Revolution, it was renamed in Africa Boulevard, but the former name is still used frequently.

Jordan is one of the upscale residential neighborhoods of the city. One can find numerous shopping centers, boutiques, florists, restaurants, cafes and art galleries. Under the Tehran youth of the busy boulevard Africa together with his jams a popular meeting place.

In Jordan there are many embassies, such as those of Spain, Poland, Mexico, Uruguay and several Arab states.
