Africa (Petrarch)

Africa is an epic of Francesco Petrarca, which was created 1338-1343. It tells the story of the Second Punic War, in which the Carthaginian general Hannibal first conquered Italy, but later by Roman troops, led by Publius Cornelius Scipio Africanus, the hero of the epic, at Zama in North Africa is defeated.
