Africa Rice Center

The Africa Rice Center (also Africa Rice) is an international research organization, which is to fight through improvements in productivity and profitability of the rice sector in Africa poverty and strengthen food security. It was founded in 1971 under the name of West Africa Rice Development Association ( WARDA ) and is one of 15 institutes of the Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research. At the same time Africa Rice is an autonomous research organization of 24 African member states. The headquarters of Africa Rice is in Cotonou, other locations are in Senegal, Nigeria, Tanzania and Ivory Coast.

NERICA is the most famous product of Africa Rice.
