Aftershock is the 22nd studio album by the British heavy metal band Motörhead. It was on October 18, 2013 in Europe, published on October 21, 2013 in the UK and on October 22, 2013 worldwide.

Formation

With the songwriting Motörhead began during the 2012 tour. The recordings were for the most part in the NRG Studios in North Hollywood and instead had to be interrupted because of the poor health of singer and bassist Lemmy Kilmister. The vocals took Kilmister on during his illness break. The album was produced by Cameron Webb. With a total of 14 tracks Aftershock is the Motörhead album with the most pieces, which guitarist Phil Campbell attributed to the wide range of song ideas. The release of the album took place in late October 2013, the band's own record label, Motörhead Music, a sublabel of UDR.

Reviews

The album was very well rated. January Jaedike from Rock Hard praised the album as one of the most diverse albums of the band's history and the songs came mostly after a good three minutes on the dot.
