AG København
The Danish Handball Association AG Copenhagen was founded in 2010 by the merger of the handball club FCK Håndbold and AG Håndbold. The Håndbold AG was founded in 2000 and broke up with the establishment of the AG Copenhagen again in 2010.
Jesper Nielsen exit and insolvency
Beginning of July 2012 announced the founder and owner of the club, Jesper Nielsen, on his departure. The reason he gave to the constant negative headlines a particular newspaper about his person and the associated burden of his family. This lost AG Copenhagen a significant source of money.
The club tried in vain to find a new owner. July 30, 2012 Søren Colding was the post on as managing director. On the same day Nielsen's sister Annette Nielsen was appointed as his successor. On 31 July 2012, the club announced the competent court to Sø above Handelsretten, insolvency. All players and staff were released with immediate effect.
Champions League 2011/12
In the group stage Copenhagen took second place behind the THW Kiel. After wins IK Sävehof and FC Barcelona was reached the Final Four tournament in Cologne. For a novelty and an international sensation in the world of handball club made so that he began in his debut season 2010/11, to compete in sleeveless jerseys. However, since the jerseys from the Danish sportswear manufacturer Hummel were not compliant with the regulations of the European Handball Federation EHF in this form, the club had to play in shirts with sleeves at least at international matches.
