Aga Khan Foundation

The Aga Khan Foundation ( Aga Khan Foundation, in short: AKF ) is a non-denominational, non-governmental development organization, which was founded in 1967 by Karim Aga Khan IV. The Foundation aims to develop creative solutions to problems that impede social development, and promote - especially in Asia and East Africa. With its headquarters in Geneva ( Switzerland ) it has branches and independent affiliates across 15 countries. The Aga Khan Foundation is an agency of the Aga Khan Development Network.

Employment priorities

The Aga Khan Foundation focuses its resources on selected topics in health, education, and agricultural development and the strengthening of civil societies. It attempts to identify solutions that can be adapted to many circumstances in many different regions and copied by seeking innovative approaches to solving common problems.

Finance and grants

The Aga Khan Foundation is the largest grant-based agency for social development in Ismailitenimamat. The Aga Khan supported the Foundation with regular funding for the administration and new program initiatives and by helping their equipment.
