Agariciidae

The Agariciidae are a family of stony corals ( Scleractinia ). They live in the tropical coral reefs of the Indo-Pacific and the Caribbean. Most species of the family growing area close to the substrate or form foliated structures so that they often look like a loose head of lettuce. Like most other stony corals live Agariciidae in a symbiotic relationship with algae ( zooxanthellae ) that supply the coral with nutrients.

In saltwater aquarium include the species of the genus Pavona the easiest to be kept hard corals.
