Agata Wróbel

Agata Wróbel ( born August 28, 1981 in Żywiec ) is a Polish weightlifter.

Career

Agata Wróbel grew up in the southern Polish Zywiec. At 15 she started weight lifting and was a short time later Polish Champion - open upwards - Heavyweight (then over 83 kg body weight). Later she moved in Siedlce in eastern Poland in the training center of the Polish weightlifter. She won many international championships medals and achieved at the Summer Olympics in 2000, the silver and the bronze medal in 2004. At the World Championships in 2003 and 2005 they finished 7th and 5th place. At the European Championships in 2006 in the domestic Władysławowo she was not at the start. In the years 2004/2005, her body weight was 120 kg.

In 2006, Agata Wrobel had to end her career due to a persistent injury. The Polish Weightlifting Federation presented a then its financial support for them. Since Agata Wrobel saw in Poland no way to earn a living, she went to England and worked in a waste sorting facility in Peterborough. She is now fitness trainer and participates in competitions in England in powerlifting.

The Weightlifting European Championships 2010 in Minsk, it reached the 8th place with 215 kg in the overall standings ( = 95 kg 120 kg ) in only a valid attempt.
