Agatharchides (crater)

Agatharchides is an impact crater in the southwest of the Moon front at the northeastern edge of Mare Humorum, east of the crater Gassendi and north of Hippalus. The rim is irregularly shaped and very severely eroded, the interior is largely flat.

Through the center of the secondary crater Agatharchides P the moon groove Rima Agatharchides runs.

The crater was officially named by the IAU in 1935 after the Greek geographers Agatharchides.
