Features

The species of the genus Agdistis as well as the subfamily Ochyrroticinae have uncleaved front and rear wings. The wings are gray to gray- brown, and in some species have a silvery sheen. There are normally small dots on the outer half of the Costa loader forewing. Other points are at the edge of the front wing crease available. On the fore wings the vein R1 is configured, the veins R2 and R3 are separated. The veins M3 and Cu1 stalked. In the rest position of the moths, the front wings are folded. The edges of this fold include an area that is poorly provided with wedge- shaped scales. The upper end of this range is near the Diskalregion, the base consists of the central portion of the vane outer edge.

The moths of this genus are very similar. The determination on the basis of external features, in many cases is very difficult and often unreliable, so that used to distinguish the types of features of the genitals.

The Valven, sacculare and cucullare appendages of the male genitals are often asymmetrical. Membranous folds or appendages, like spines occasionally present. The ninth sternite is well developed and stretched. The female genitalia are of great variety, especially the shape and size of the antrum is characteristic.

Dissemination
