Agias of Sparta

Agias ( ancient Greek Ἀγίας ) was a Elier from the priestly family of Iamidai who exercised the oracle service in the oracle of Olympia.

He was the son of Agilochos and a grandson of the seer Tisamenus, who was in the service of Sparta. According to Pausanias, he prophesied the victory of Lysander at the Battle of Aigospotamoi, after all Athenian ships should be applied up to ten. After the successful battle him a bronze statue was erected in Sparta.
