Agitation Free is a German progressive / Krautrock band from Berlin.

Band History

The band was created in 1967 by the merger of two Berlin rock groups. The Quartet, consisting of Lutz Ulbrich, Michael Günther, Christopher Franke and Lutz Ludwig Kramer and Michael temporarily Duwe, which initially played mainly foreign compositions and finally developed long improvisations, experimenting the end of 1967 in concerts with liquid projectors, slides and hand-rolled narrow films. After some changes Agitation Free 1970 occurred the "First German Progressive Pop Festival " in the Berlin Sports Palace. In " Electronic Beat Studio Berlin " they received, as well as other bands, their finishing touches under the direction of Thomas Kessler. In April 1972, the band went into the occupation Lutz Ulbrich, Michael Günther, Jörg Schwenke, Michael Hoenig and Burghard Rausch at the invitation of the Goethe Institute on tour in Egypt, Lebanon, Cyprus and Greece. The diverse impressions of this trip were reflected in the first album " Malesch ".

In summer 1972, the band performed in the cultural program of the Olympic Games in Munich, toured the beginning of 1973 two months through France, met in May on the " German Rock Super Concert" in Frankfurt, produced the second album " 2nd" and then went on tour by France and German cities. Later Christopher Franke helped the band Tangerine Dream to worldwide recognition. Gustl Lütjens toured with Shirley Bassey and Nena and later found with his New Age band Living Mirrors, especially in the United States an audience. Agitation Free graduated in February 2007, a week-long tour of Japan. The band played there, after a break of more than 33 years, in the original cast of 1974. Concerts in Japan found coincide with the inauguration of a wax figure of keyboardist Michael Hoenig. Hoenig is now available as the second member of the band, beside Lutz Ulbrich and the supporters of the band Manni Neumeier (Guru Guru ) in the " Tokyo Tower Wax Museum ".
