Aglaspidida

Aglaspis spinifer

  • North America (Wisconsin )
  • Europe ( Wales)
  • Africa ( Morocco)

As Aglaspidida sensu stricto is called an order of extinct arthropods ( Arthropoda ) of the Cambrian and Ordovician of Wisconsin, Morocco and Wales. According to other definitions, the Aglaspidida be raised to a subclass with a global presence, which are also referred to as Aglaspidida -like arthropods (English aglaspidid -like arthropods ).

Features

Aglaspidida were small to medium-sized arthropods with a phosphate-containing cuticle. The head shield was completely free of any visible seams molting and had 4 or maybe 5 pairs of Annexes, of which the first pair had a simple, antenna -like appearance. The other were similar to procure and run legs could have been. The eyes were, if any, dorsally. The body usually consisted of 11 to 12 free, overlapping tergites. The last tergite formed the basis of a centrally located tail spine.

System

Outer systematics

Arthropods of order Aglaspidida were often considered lower Xiphosura and the pine -mouth media ( Chelicerata ) counted. Hou & Bergström 1997 presented the subclass with the same name Aglaspidida Aglaspidida order and the order Strabopida on. According to studies by Chen et al. 2004 and Scholtz & Egdecombe 2005 are the Aglaspidida trilobites closer than the jaw claws carriers. An accurate and recognized systematic classification within the arthropods does not currently exist.

Inside systematics

The Aglaspidida, as defined by Raasch 1939 and the emendation of Briggs, Bruton and Whittington 1979, the following types are calculated by van Roy 2006:

Aglaspidida -like arthropods

Various definitions of Aglaspidida many arthropods are expected to Aglaspidida that do not match the description of the order in the strict sense. These are based mostly on the definition of the subclass Aglaspidida by Hou & Bergström or other concepts of classification. Arthropods that do not fit into the order Aglaspidida ss because they lack one or more features, van Roy called Aglaspidida -like arthropods (English aglaspidid -like arthropods ) and one of these following:
