Agnes Obel
Agnes Caroline Thaarup Obel ( born October 28, 1980 in Copenhagen) is a Danish pop singer.
Biography
Playing the piano Obel learned at an early age on the family piano. She played in a school band, founded with girlfriends a girl band and worked with Elton Theander together in the band Sohio before she began her solo career.
Had your first success, the Berlin-based Danish artist with the song Just So, that was used in a commercial Deutsche Telekom in 2009. The single was subsequently made their way into the German charts and reached there ranked 44th
This was followed by work on her debut album Philharmonics, which was released in autumn 2010. Although she could not attend the success of Just So build in Germany, in her native Denmark, the album was very successful and was awarded 4x platinum. In Switzerland, they took with the album and the second single Riverside attention that Thomas Vinterberg's film Submarino in (2010 ) and the American television series Grey's Anatomy ( Season 7 episode 142 ) was used. The song was in 2011 awarded the Danish Film Award Robert. Agnes Obel lives in Berlin, where she has also written and produced their second album since 2006. In addition to Danish she speaks English and German.
In 2012 she was awarded with the European Border Breakers Award ( EBBA ).
