Agnes Samaria

Agnes Samaria ( born August 11, 1972 in Otjiwarongo ) is a former middle distance runner from Namibia. The athlete is three times the Namibian " Sportswoman of the Year " and since 27 October 2005 on " goodwill ambassador " of the United Nations International Children's Fund. After her retirement from competitive sport, she was team manager at the Namibian Association of Athletics Federations.

The full-time teacher won, among other things medals at the 2002 Commonwealth Games in Manchester and at the Track Championships Africa in Cape Town. In addition, Agnes Samaria participated in the IAAF World Championships in Edmonton in 2001, in Paris in 2003, in Helsinki in 2005 and 2007 in Osaka as well as the 2000 Olympic Games, 2004 and 2008 for their country part.

Samaria personal bests are:

  • 400 m 53.83 s on 12 February 2001 ( in Potchefstroom )
  • 800 meters 1:59,15 s on July 29, 2002 ( in Manchester )
  • 1000 meters 2:34,19 s on 30 August 2002 (in Brussels) and
  • 1500 meters 4:05,30 s on July 29, 2008 (in Monaco).

Personal Trainer of Agnes Samaria was the Saarland State coach Willi happy man.
