Agnes Schierhuber

Agnes Schier Huber ( born May 31, 1946 in Reith ) is an Austrian politician (ÖVP ). She was from 1995 to 2009 Member of the European Parliament.

Life

As a trained agricultural technical worker she has from 1967 to 2000 with her husband, a farm, mining zone 1 farmed. In addition, and was Schierhuber is active in various political offices and functions, including the Lower Austrian Farmers' Federation, the Chamber of Agriculture and 1986-1996 in the Bundesrat.

She is since 1993 Coordinator of the Austrian Association for Medicinal and Aromatic Plants.

In 2000 it was awarded the title of Councillor economy and there was the farm transfer to the eldest daughter. She has been married since 1967 and has two daughters.

In the European Parliament was Agnes Schierhuber full member of the Committee on Agriculture and Rural Development and the Delegation to Canada and substitute member of the Committee on Employment and Social Affairs. In the Group of the European People's Party (EPP- ED), she was deputy chairman of the Working Group C ( Agriculture, Fisheries, budget, budget control ).
