Agnese Possamai

Agnese Possamai ( born January 17, 1953 in Lentiai, Belluno ) is an Italian former middle and long distance runner.

At the Olympic Games in 1980 she left about 800 m and 1500 m respectively in the flow.

In 1981, she won at the Indoor Athletics Championships in Grenoble about 1500 m. At the World Cross Country Championships in Madrid, she finished fourth and won bronze in the team. The following year she won at the European Indoor Championships in Milan about 3000 m. Again, she finished fourth at the Cross Country World Championships in Rome and took time with the team silver. The European Athletics Championships 1982 in Athens, she finished ninth over 3000 m.

In 1983 she won a silver medal at the European Indoor Championships in Budapest. A sixth place finish at the World Athletics Championships in Helsinki over 3000 m followed by double gold above 1500 m and 3000 m at the Mediterranean Games. In 1984 she was at the Olympics in Los Angeles Tenth over 3000 m.

In 1985, she won each over 3000 meters silver medal at the IAAF World Indoor Games in Paris and gold at the European Indoor Championships in Piraeus. In the World Cup 1987 in Rome she left about 1500 m and 3000 m in the flow.

Twice she was Italian champion over 800 m (1978, 1979), five times more than 3000 m ( 1982-1985, 1987), seven times in cross country (1978, 1980-1982, 1984-1986 ) and twice in the mountain running (1980, 1981). In the hall she took five times the title over 1500 m ( 1979-1981, 1984, 1986) and three times higher than 3000 m ( 1982-1984 ).
