Agnieszka Brustman

Agnieszka Brustman ( born July 31, 1962 in Warsaw) is a Polish chess master.

Brustman in the 1980s was the leading Polish chess player. They won as a junior numerous international titles: 1980 was Youth European Champion, 1982 World Junior Champion. As the first player they received in 1980 by the World Chess Federation FIDE the newly introduced title FIDE Women's Champion (WFM ), 1982 was International Women's Champion. At 18, she won at the Chess Olympiad 1980 in Valetta, a silver medal for her individual result.

In 1985, she was Grand Master of the women ( WGM ). She qualified twice for the Candidates Tournament of the ladies. Four times she won the Polish Women's Championship (1982, 1984, 1987 and 1996).

Brustman gained popularity also in Poland about chess, as in 1988 worked as an actress and appeared in the Polish film series Decalogue.
