Agnieszka Osiecka

Agnieszka Osiecka ( born October 9, 1936 in Warsaw, † March 7, 1997 ibid ), daughter of pianist and composer Wiktor Osiecki, was a Polish writer, poet and lyricist.

Life

Agnieszka Osiecka studied in the 1950s at the University of Warsaw and from 1957 to 1961 at the Film School in Łódź. As early as 1954 she joined ( Theatre of the satirist students) with the Warsaw students cabaret STS on, wrote for the cabaret texts and belonged to the Democrat-led Artistic Council of the theater group. In 1954 she began her texts in numerous Polish magazines to publish. Her work included not only Prosarbeiten and plays mainly Lyrics. You created in the course of their careers than 2000 texts to songs, many of which belong to the standard repertoire of Polish pop music and chanson. Their most successful song lyrics she wrote for the singer Maryla Rodowicz. Their song Małgosia from the 1970s was chosen for the millennium of the Polish population the most popular song of the 20th century. Other outstanding artists for whom she wrote lyrics were: Kalina Jędrusik, Seweryn Krajewski, Magda Umer and Krystyna Janda. In her last years she was connected to the small theater Teatr Studio in Sopot. This theater is run by the German director and performer of Yiddish songs André Hübner Ochodlo. She wrote from 1994 to 1997 a number of lyrics for this theater. After her death, the Teatr studio was named after her.

Agnieszka Osiecka died in 1997 after a long battle with cancer disease. She was married to the journalist Daniel Passent. Their daughter Agata Passent is also a journalist and administers the estate of her mother, together with a foundation that is about to issue a 13 -volume songbook by Agnieszka Osiecka Wielki śpiewnik Agnieszki Osieckiej.
