Agostinho José Sartori

Agostinho José Sartori, OFM Cap (* May 29, 1929 in Capinzal, † June 6, 2012 in Pato Branco) was Roman Catholic Bishop of Palmas - Francisco Beltrão.

Life

Agostinho José Sartori joined the Order of Friars Minor Capuchin and received his first training in Capinzal (1937 /40) and at Seminário Capuchinho in Curitiba (1941 /46). In Curitiba, he studied theology (1946 /48) and Philosophy (1948 /50). At the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome, he graduated in ecclesiastical law. He received on August 15, 1952, the ordination. He was professor of moral philosophy, theology and canon law, and Vice - Rector of the Seminary of the Capuchins, and Rector of the Theological Institute of Curitiba. He also served as president of the Conference of the Capuchins in Brazil.

Pope Paul VI. appointed him on 16 February 1970 Bishop of Palmas - Francisco Beltrão based in Palma. The Apostolic Nuncio to Brazil, Umberto Mozzoni, donated to him on 16 February of the same year, the episcopal ordination; Co-consecrators were Geraldo Luiz Claudio Micheletto Pellanda CP, Bishop of Ponta Grossa, and Antônio Pedro Marchetti Fedalto, Archbishop of Curitiba.

On November 13, 2004 Pope John Paul II accepted his resignation age-related.
