AGOVV Apeldoorn

The AGOVV Apeldoorn is a football club based in the Dutch city of Apeldoorn. The biggest success of the club founded in 1913 is the advance in the finals of the Dutch Cup in 1938. From 1957 to 1962, and since 2003, the club plays in the second-rate Eerste Divisie. Meanwhile AGOVV spent many years in the amateur stock.

History

The club was founded on February 2, 1913. Since 1919, the club introduced the name " Apeldoornse Geheel Voetbal Vereniging Onthouders " ( AGOVV ) ( German Apeldoorn teetotaler football club ), because the founders were opponents of the then usual drinks abuse at the end of football games. Stadium

AGOVV Apeldoorn plays its competitions since 1921 at the Sportpark Berg en Bos in the same residential area in Apeldoorn West. The stadium is on the edge of a forest and is characterized by the position of one of the finest ever. The built in 1921 Grandstand is a listed building. Sportpark Berg en Bos was completely renovated in returning to the second division. The old stadium had no seats in addition to the relatively small grandstand.
