Agrokor

Agrokor d.d. is the largest private company in Croatia and one of the most powerful companies in Southeast Europe. In 2008, revenues of 27.7 billion kuna (approx. 3.8 billion euros ) were significant. Currently, the company employs approximately 36,000 employees. Sales and profits grow permanently in two digits, the last 34 % and 22 %.

The main activity of Agrokor is the production and distribution of food and beverages and retail. For group includes the largest Croatian meat industry PIK Vrbovec, the largest capacity of the agriculture industry to Belje as well as the leading retail chain Konzum.

The Group has developed in its 30 - year anniversary of a small family business that has planted flowers and sold to one of the leading food retail companies in this region.

The leading position of Agrokor products is reflected in their market share. So Ledo holds 80 % of the Croatian ice - market Zvijezda has a 83 % market share in the margarine and Jamnica has a 80 % and 59 % market share in the field of mineral water or spring water.

Besides the various Croatian companies the Agrokor Group includes several different companies from other regions such as from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Hungary and Serbia.

History

Ivica Todorić founded in 1976 a company for the manufacture and sale of flowers and cuttings. It will be built the first greenhouses in the course of the year and expanded the sale of goods to the rest of the country. Although the socialist Yugoslavia private companies do not like to see Todorić can already in the first two years to hire more than 50 people.

In the period from 1977 to 1988, the field of activity of the company is spreading. So can be achieved through import and export of cereals, oil seeds, fruits and vegetables, growth of turnover and thus also of the profit. The company takes the lead role in the flower industry. In 1989, the corporation Agrokor is founded. The company rises in the next two years in the construction industry and buys a factory for processing soy in Zadar.

The Lovno gospodaarstvo Moslavina d.o.o. is founded in 1992 and has a hunting license for a hunting area near Zagreb. Agrokor is the majority owner of Jamnica and Agroprerad. Agrokor 1993 is the majority owner of Zvijezda and DIP Turopolje. The completely destroyed during the war Croatia Jamnica factory is rebuilt and resumed production.

A modern distribution system is introduced at Zvijezda and Jamnica 1994. In Jamnica new product lines are introduced and started filling into PET bottles. Agrokor is the majority owner of Ledo, Konzum, Silos - Mlinovi, Bobis and Solana Pag. In 1995, the first Super Konzum is built. Agrokor is registered as a group. The acquisition of Jaska vino dd, where juices and quality wines are produced with the name Podrum Mladina, takes place in 1998.

The two companies silos Mlinovi and SRC Andrijaševci be together in 1999 under the name of PIK Vinkovci dd registered. It follows the start of construction for a Distribution Center, which is the Group's largest investment project at the same time. In Čitluk (BiH ), a new company ( Čitluk Ledo ) is established in 2000 for the production of ice cream. Agrokor opened the largest distribution center in Croatia and the region. According to the EBRD Agrokoru has a credibility of 170 million euros. Agrokor holds 97.4 % of the shares of the company Sarajevski Kiseljak.

In 2003 Agrokor takes over 51 % of TP DC Sarajevo and 55.49 % of the shares, the company Frikom ( Eiswarenfabrik, Serbia). In addition, the mineral water Jamnica receives the prize EAUSCAR.

Sloboda from Osijek and Dubrovnik Medijator be taken over by Agrokor or Konzum 2004. In addition, 58.11 % of the shares go the company Agrolaguna from Poreč and two Hungarian company, on the one hand and the Water filling Fonyódi Eiswarenfabrik Baldauf, in the possession of Agrokor over. The new product line Jana ( still water ) is realized in this year and the flavored water Jana - Strawberry / Guava will receive a prize of EAUSCAR.

Dijamant Zrenjanin / Serbia and the company Idea from Belgrade are included in the consolidated 2005. Agrokor acquires 99.76 % to 67.92 % in PIK Vrbovec and Belje and opened the first drug store business with the name Kozmo drogerija. The product Jana receives in the same year a EAUSCAR as natural spring water.

The Agrokor Group and the EBRD signed a contract in 2006 to 110 million euros to invest in the share capital of Agrokor, which ERBD receives a share of 8.33 % in this group.
