AGROVOC
AGROVOC is a multilingual thesaurus for the field of agronomy, forestry, fisheries, food and related areas such as nutrition and the environment. A controlled vocabulary of AGROVOC consists of names and terms in several languages, between which various thesaurus relations (generic term, narrower term, related term ... ) exist. The so- defined terms ( descriptors ) are used for uniform indexing to allow a targeted and efficient search for relevant information.
AGROVOC was developed by the Food and Agriculture Organization FAO and the European Commission (Commission of the European Communities, CEC) developed in the early 1980s and published. The approximately three-monthly updates, just like the entire thesaurus AGROVOC on the Web site.
