AgustaWestland AW169

The AgustaWestland AW169 is a zehnsitziger, twin-engine helicopter of the Italian company AgustaWestland turbine powered.

History

2008 has been talked about a new helicopters already under the project name XX9 at the Farnborough International Airshow in public by AgustaWestland. The AW169 was introduced to the public on 19 July 2010 at the 47th Farnborough International Airshow and is regarded as a competitor for the Eurocopter EC 145 Eurocopter Dauphin and. By 2030, AgustaWestland has projected sales of 1,000 units of this helicopter. The approval for the 4.5 -ton helicopter is based on CS -29, the commissioning is scheduled to begin no earlier than 2014. The first flight took place on 10 May 2012 at the base of AgustaWestland in Cascina Costa in Samarate. In July and November 2012, respectively, a prototype of the test fleet has been added. The fourth prototype had its maiden flight on 31 January 2013 in Cascina Costa. Until the end of 2012 were available 70 orders for the new helicopter type.

Construction

The cockpit is equipped among others with three active - matrix displays, a Flight Management System, Wide Area Augmentation System and ACAS Rockwell Collins. When driving two Pratt & Whitney PW210 serve with FADEC, a fully digital engine control.
