AgustÃn DÃaz Yanes
Agustín Díaz Yanes ( born 1950 in Madrid ) is a Spanish film director and screenwriter. He is the recipient of the Spanish Goya Film Awards.
Biography
Yanes was born in 1950 in the Spanish capital. In the 1970s he wrote successfully at the University of Madrid for history and worked as a literary critic. During this time he became interested in the theater and he began to write his first screenplays. This would later be adapted for some movies.
So far, he has worked with several film stars, such as with Penelope Cruz in the film Sin noticias de Dios or with Viggo Mortensen in the film Alatriste, both of which were nominated for the Goya.
